How to Turn on Adobe Flash in Chrome Browser

How to Turn on Adobe Flash in Chrome Browser

It is virtually impossible to access media content like games, videos, and music without Adobe Flash technology. While there are some other alternatives and more websites start switching to them, Flash is still a pivotal piece of tech required to surf the web. However, it may crash or not work properly out of nowhere. In such cases, you may need to restart it.

Enabling Flash Plug-In

Follow several simple steps:
1. Fire up the browser.

 2. Input “chrome://settings/content” in the address bar.

 3. In the settings tab search for the listing “Flash”.

4. Choose either to force the plug-in to ask before activating or to prevent sites from using it altogether.

Blocking and Allowing Websites to Use the Plug-In

1. Again, the procedure is quite simple and won’t require any special skills. Just follow the steps below:

2. Go to the website that you want to manage.
3. Search for the icon of a padlock in the left-most part of the address bar.

4. Search for the submenu “Settings”.

 5. Locate the option “Flash” in the list and choose from a selection of variants that will be in the drop-down menu.

Checking and Upgrading Flash

Outdated versions of the plug-in usually work correctly and won’t cause any troubles for users. However, some websites may require you to have the latest version of the software. In such cases, you will need to manually update it. In order to do so, you will need to go to the settings once again. Below is the list of actions you will need to perform:
1. In the address bar of the browser, input “chrome://components/”.
2. Search for the submenu called “Adobe Flash Player”.

3. Right underneath the listing, you will see the version and you can click the link called “check for update”. Doing so will prompt the process of automatic updates. The software will start searching for available updates and immediately install the latest version if it exists

 4. In the vast majority of cases, performing these actions will solve problems with accessing media content that was unavailable due to the outdated version of the Flash plug-in.

Installing and Reinstalling Flash

In rare cases, critical errors and bugs can cause improper functionality or inability of the plug-in to correctly process media files. In such scenarios, you can simply reinstall it. You will need to do the following:
1. Go to the website “https://adoble.com/go/chrome”.

 2. Choose the operating system and PPAPI as your browser.
3. Download the software package and launch it.

Additional troubleshooting

If you still cannot view media materials properly, you may need to update the browser itself. Open the menu and search for the item “Update Google Chrome”. If you do not see it, you are already using the latest version of the software.

If all of the options described above do not work, you can open settings and go to the extensions page in order to manually disable some of the plug-ins and add-ons. In rare scenarios, these add-ons may cause problems with functionality. Try disabling them one-by-one to see if one of them is the root of the issue. Also, check whether you can access similar content on other websites since the real problem may be with the files you are trying to access.

How to Change the Search Engine Used by Safari by Default

There are several widely used web search services. While many others exist, the big four is comprised of Google, Yahoo, Bing, and DuckDuckGo. There are also regional search engines that are widely used in specific regions of the world. For example, the whole CIS region prefers using Yandex and Chinese speakers use Baidu.

So what can you do to change the default search engine for Safari?

How to Block Pop-Ups In Your Preferred Web Browser

The pesky ads and pop-ups that plague your browser whenever you try to access content are more than annoying. If you do not want to experience all that hassle, just prevent your browser from showing them!

Blocking pop-ups in Chrome

Chrome is quite fast and offers a wide range of additional features that help you make browsing a fulfilling experience. Here’s how you can block pop-ups when using Chrome:

1. In the address bar, enter “chrome://settings/content/”

3. In the same tab, you can manage exceptions to allow certain websites to show them or vice versa.

For users of Android-powered portable devices, the process will be slightly different:
1. Go to the settings in Chrome mobile’s main menu.
2. Navigate to the submenu labeled “Site settings” under the item “Content”.
3. Search for a separate listing “Pop-ups” and block them completely.
